About Us
Set on Department of Hawaiian Home Lands land, in the “Piko” of the Kealakehe Ahupuaʻa, Laʻiʻōpua 2020 brings together our Kona community for collaboration, inspiration, and knowledge sharing. The spiritual and cultural values that are inherent in the land and the people of Hawaiʻi are at the core of all that we do. We envision a vital West Hawaiʻi community where local families lead the way. Together, we can thrive.
Our Aspirations
More Native Hawaiian owned businesses that start-up, grow, and build wealth, creating a multi-generational legacy over time. A space for community stakeholders to come together – from entrepreneurs and artists, to farmers, fishermen, and chefs – to create educational, workforce and mentorship opportunities.
A conscious investment in our future. Programs which give our lāhui confidence in their own ideas, a positive sense of self, and a strong connection to our ʻōlelo, our culture, and our ʻāina.
Our Space
Located on Department of Hawaiian Home Lands property, the essence of Hawaiʻi's spiritual and cultural heritage deeply drives everything we do. Constructed in 2018 our Community Hale includes a cutting edge commercial kitchen, a co-working hub equipped with conference and meeting rooms, and versatile event spaces.
Our Leadership
Our diverse Board of Directors bring extensive knowledge of entrepreneurship, education, community organizing, and Hawaiian arts and culture to the table.
